March 22nd – March 28th

Welcome back to The Louisville Plug.

This week is a packed one. We've got goat races taking over NuLu, Opening Night at Slugger Field, and a donut shop that's been flying under the radar for too long.

Most importantly: We've locked in an exclusive discount on one of the best ways to experience this city like a local.

Inside this issue:

The Local Rec
A Louisville local’s food rec, every week.

This week’s rec comes from:
Paige McCormick @ paige.mccormick

If you're not already following Paige McCormick, add her to your feed immediately. She's a Louisville based content creator and social media manager who brings genuine and good energy to everything she shares. Between managing brands by day and documenting the best of the 502 on her own page, her recs come from a place of real enthusiasm and real experience. This week's is no exception.

Why they love it:
"My go-to for a pick me up or when I’m in the need for a street treat!”

“They have a variety of house made donuts and even have a section that are gluten free…perfect for everyone!”

“The staff is super friendly, great environment, even better donuts & coffee it’s no wonder why I have to stop by often!”

Be sure to follow Paige on Instagram and let her know if you make a Bamboo run this week! I am excited to get out and get my hands on one of those donuts and enjoy this nicer weather.

⚜️ What’s Happening in Lou?
We curate 3 events worth your time each week so you don’t have to.

🗓️ March 28th from 12pm - 6pm
📍 E Market St, NuLu District
💸 FREE

The 9th annual Bock Fest takes over four blocks of NuLu for one of the most uniquely Louisville afternoons of the year. The headliners? Adult and baby goat races, a wurst competition between local restaurants, live music, and all the locally crafted bock beer you can handle.

There's a petting zoo and kids activities for the family, plus Bulleit Bourbon cocktails and a Patrón Tequila Shack on site for those who want to keep the party going. If you're feeling ambitious, lace up early for the 502ft fun run at 11:30am before the festival kicks off.

🗓️ March 27th @ 7:15pm (Gates open @ 6pm)
📍 Louisville Slugger Field
💸 Ticketed

Baseball is back at one of the best minor league ballparks in the country. The Bats kick off their 2026 season hosting the Omaha Storm Chasers, and they're making sure you show up hungry and thirsty. Dollar beers run from gates open all the way until first pitch, and $6 Margarita Madness keeps the deals going all night.

The ZOOperstars bring their inflatable animal entertainment between innings, and every fan walks out with a magnetic schedule giveaway. Whether you're a die hard or just looking for a great excuse to be outside on a Friday night in late March, Opening Night at Slugger Field never disappoints.

📍 Triple Crown Pavilion, Jeffersontown
💸 $20–$50 single day / $45–$50 weekend pass

Now in its 15th year, LAX is the ultimate weekend for anyone who grew up feeding quarters into a machine. Over 40,000 square feet of free play arcade games, pinball, and classic consoles fill the Triple Crown Pavilion in J-Town for three straight days of nostalgia. This year's lineup includes a VR Zone, pinball tournaments, a Dr. Mario championship, and a retro trivia Pub Quiz on Friday night at 8pm. Cosplay is encouraged, so feel free to come dressed as your favorite character.

Whether you're bringing the kids or just your one, LAX 2026 is one of the best value weekends on the Louisville calendar.
