Louisville's own is coming home. Jack Harlow brings The Monica Tour to Paristown Hall with James Savage opening. A Grammy nominated hometown hero playing an intimate hometown room instead of an arena does not happen often. Expect "What's Poppin," "First Class," "Lovin On Me," and plenty from the new record, with general admission standing on the main floor or elevated balcony views if you want a little breathing room.

Good news if Saturday sells out: he added a second Louisville date on Monday August 31st, same 7:30pm start. A few venue rules to know before you go. No outside food or drink, no cameras or recording devices, no oversized bags or backpacks, and there are bag checks on entry.

Louisville's favorite free concert series is back for its August installment, and alt country legends Old 97's are headlining alongside Cait Justice and LPM Young Artist Showcase winner Jahmai Evans with Trip J Band. New this season, headliners take the stage earlier and play longer sets after a spotlight on local and regional artists, so you get more music for the same unbeatable price of nothing.

It runs rain or shine unless the weather turns dangerous, and proceeds benefit Louisville Public Media and Waterfront Park. One parking note: River Road near the event closes to through traffic at 5pm, but street parking stays open on River Road between Preston and the Lincoln Lot, and the Green and Orange lots are first come first served with entry from Preston.

BEERFEST returns for its third year at the State Fair, and it is a one day only afternoon you do not want to miss. Sample beers from around a dozen local craft breweries out of a souvenir glass, with yard games, photo ops, and live music throughout. Dreaming Creek, Hop Atomica, Ten20, West Sixth, and White Squirrel are all confirmed, with VIP and bourbon tasting add ons available if you want to upgrade.

Buy in advance. At $30 the advance ticket bundles your fair admission and parking, while the $35 door price includes neither, so grab yours before Friday August 28th. Tickets are limited. Here is the pro move: after BEERFEST wraps at 4pm, grab some fair food and walk a few steps over to catch Foghat and the Kentucky Headhunters at the Texas Roadhouse Concert Series, included with your admission.

The fair is in its home stretch and this week brings the best deals of the entire run. Monday August 24th is $5 Monday, which is the cheapest the fair gets all year. Tuesday is Senior Day, and Wednesday is Sensory Awareness Day, a lower stimulation experience designed for guests with sensory sensitivities.

One ticket still covers livestock shows, blue ribbon exhibits, more than 50 rides in Thrill Ville, all the fair food you can handle, and the nightly Texas Roadhouse Concert Series in Lot L. The World's Championship Horse Show also continues in Freedom Hall through August 29th. If you have been putting off the fair all month, $5 Monday is your answer.
